Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s cities of Shusha and Baku will host the First International Theater Festival of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TÜRKSOY) to be held from October 31 to November 4.
The event will mark the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, declaration of Shusha as the Cultural capital of the Turkic World for 2023, 150th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s National Theater, as well as 30th anniversary of TÜRKSOY.
The Festival will gather troupes of the Samarkand Musical and Drama Theater (Uzbekistan), Issyk-Kul Musical Drama Theater named after Kasymaly Jantoshev (Kyrgyzstan), Turkestan Musical and Drama Theater (Kazakhstan), Istanbul State Theater (Türkiye), and Turkmenistan Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater.
The event will also bring together the renowned theater experts and stage personalities of the Turkic World to discuss issues of development in the relevant field.
As part of the event, Azerbaijan’s city of Shusha will also host the 9th meeting of the council of directors of state theaters of TURKSOY member states.
