Baku, Europe today: Azerbaijan will host the Ski Mountaineering World Championships for the first time, the decision was approved by the International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF). The decision was made in response to an official request from the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation.
According to the latest competition calendar of the International Federation, this international and prestigious event will be held from February 28 to March 7, 2027, in the famous Shahdag tourist center in Azerbaijan, the leading winter sports center in the country.
Azerbaijan’s inclusion in the list of host countries is an important milestone in the development of winter sports in the country and demonstrates that Azerbaijan has the potential to host major world-class sporting events.
The Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation thanked the ISMF and reaffirmed its commitment to holding the World Championships in Shahdag successfully and at the highest level.
