It is located in the northwest of South Asia, stretching from the southwest to the northeast for 1500 km. Pakistan is a beautiful country. There are 108 peaks over 7000 meters high, including Mount K2 with stunning scenery. From busy cities like Islamabad and Lahore to beautiful valleys in the north. Pakistan is the perfect place for a unique holiday.

Each city has its own character, atmosphere and it is associated with something. Of course, we have been in Pakistan for more than a year, but I have certain impressions, and I probably caught some of their essence, specificity, or maybe mood. Each of the cities is not like the other, but each has its own charm. The cities of Pakistan are different, like the colors of the same rainbow. My husband and I are avid travelers. We have visited many countries. Pakistan differs from other countries in its picturesque nature, here people are different, they are distinguished by their hospitality, kindness, friendliness, responsiveness, courtesy. The beauty of natural landscapes is simply breathtaking. Pakistan is rich in architectural marvels, history, historical sites, many of which date back to the Mughal era.

The majestic Badshahi Mosque, located in the walled city of Lahore, is considered one of the largest mosques in Pakistan. This stunning mosque was built during the Mughal era.

In November 2021, during our visit to fabulous Lahore, we visited the centuries-old Lahore Fort, located in the walled city next to the Badshahi Mosque. This is one of the most historical forts in Pakistan. It also has the status of one of the six UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Pakistan.

Rohtas Fort is a large historical fort built for defense and the scenery is magnificent. It was a good experience for me and my husband to visit Rohtas Fort. This is the most visited place in Pakistan. Rohtas Fort – UNESCO World Heritage Site- is known for its large defensive walls and several monumental gateways. One of the oldest cultural identity of Pakistan from 16th century! Those who are interested in historical places, this place can bewitch.

The Khewra salt mine is considered to be the oldest in the history of salt mining in the subcontinent. Pakistan has the world’s second largest salt reserves, found in the Jhelum district of the Punjab province. The mines are visited not only by local residents, but also by foreign tourists. And what is more interesting, I have always seen and bought Himalayan salt in supermarkets in Baku and it was very funny to visit the place where it is mined.

Hiran Minar, also known as the Deer Tower, may be an underrated historical landmark, but it is definitely one of the best places to visit in Sheikhpur. The Hiran Minar complex was built in 1620 AD during the Mughal era.

SINDH PROVINCE OF PAKISTAN

Located in the southeastern region of the country, Sindh is the third largest province of Pakistan in terms of area and the second most populated province after Punjab.
Karachi is the largest city on the Arabian coast, the industrial center and seaport of Pakistan. Karachi was the first capital of the independent state of Pakistan until the capital was moved to Rawalpindi in 1958 and then to Islamabad in 1960. The ports of Karachi and Qasim are among the largest and busiest ports in the Indian Ocean. It is one of the largest cities in the world with a population of up to 20 million people. The founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, known by the honorific nickname Qaid-e-Azam (“Great Leader”), was born in Karachi. Karachi is multifaceted and beautiful – with colorful streets, oriental architecture and colorful markets. So, Karachi is a place where life really boils and rages. The active character of the city, its pace and atmosphere are striking. Karachi is a very crowded city, people are constantly running, rushing somewhere. The atmosphere in the parks is different – no one is in a hurry.

I especially liked Maj Khalid Shahid park. The park is located on the banks of a stream, next to the Savor restaurant. Its beautiful scenery becomes the center of attention not only for locals but also for tourists who look out over the Arabian Sea in the evenings in search of a cool breeze after the mostly hot afternoon hours. The park is small but good for walking. Karachi is multifaceted and beautiful – with colorful streets, oriental architecture and colorful markets.

There are many specialized museums in Karachi such as PAF Museum, Quaid-e-Azam House Museum, State Bank Museum, National Museum of Pakistan (National Museum of Pakistan), Planetarium of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA Planetarium), Mohatta Palace Museum, Center of Splendor (TDF MagnifiScience Center).

PAKISTAN MARITIME MUSEUM, KARACHI

MOHATTA PALACE, KARACHI

One of the most popular attractions in the Pakistani city of Karachi is the Air Force Museum, established in 1990. Its display includes various aircraft, weapons and radars of the Air Force Vehicles. Most of the samples are located under the high sky in the park, which is part of the museum.

Quaid-i-Azam House is one of the most famous museums in Karachi. Recognized as one of Karachi’s most famous museums, the Quaid-e-Azam House Museum was not always a museum, it was the place Muhammad Ali Jinnah once called home. Everything about this magnificent yellow stone building speaks of history, making it one of Karachi’s most breathtaking historical attractions. This is a large mansion with a vast lawn of 10,241 sq. It is also known as the Flagstaff House Museum in Jinnah.

Quaid and Azam, founder of Pakistan and national hero, was born in Karachi on December 25, 1876. Mohammad Ali Jinnah was a successful politician and lawyer. He joined the All India Muslim League in 1913 and led the league as leader until the nation of “Pakistan” came into being in 1947. In the newest country, Pakistan, he is the 1st Governor General. Muhammad Ali Jinnah was commonly referred to as “Kaid i Azam” which means “Great Leader” awarded by Maulana Mazharuddin and “Baba i Kum” which means “Father of the Nation”.

Quaid-e-Azam House Museum

Another great museum in Karachi is the Money Museum. The main objectives of the Museum are to preserve the cultural heritage of Pakistan, which exists in the form of the old SBP building, provide an opportunity for the general public and especially the younger generation to learn about the history of the SBP, money and coins, monetary policy and its changing role over time, encourage the development of artistic talent in the country and establish a tradition of cultural exchange with other museums in the world. The museum consists of the following thematic halls: “History of the State Bank of Pakistan”, “Coin Gallery”, “Currency Gallery”, “Stamps Gallery” and “Art Gallery”.

The National Museum of Pakistan in Karachi was established in 1951 in the historic Frere Hall and remained there until July 1969. In the meantime, the government, recognizing the importance of the National Institution, advocated the construction of a separate building in Burns Garden. The opening ceremony of the new building was performed by the then President of Pakistan on 21 February 1970. The museum is a complete representation of the cultural heritage of Pakistan from the Stone Age to the birth of Pakistan.

I visited the museum with my husband. Very informative galleries, especially the Pakistan freedom movement gallery. Also a wonderful Quran Gallery. A very large park and a very large area to visit. I must say the staff were professional, educated and friendly.

The National Museum of Pakistan in Karachi

My husband’s friend advised us to visit the Planetarium which is owned by Pakistan Airways. The PIA Planetarium is a museum where you can see old aircraft, PIA history and old Pakistan Air Force aircraft. It educates science students. It was founded in 1985 first in Karachi and later in Lahore. The beautiful red dome makes the building more beautiful. By the way, Pakistan Airways operated its first flight from Lahore to Baku on March 16, 2022.

Air communication between Azerbaijan and Pakistan has become a “historic event” that will serve to strengthen friendly relations and good neighborly relations between the countries.

The national air carrier of Azerbaijan AZAL – Azerbaijan Airlines launches regular flights to Pakistan from September 22, 2023.

During our visit to Karachi, we visited another important tourist attraction in the center of the city, the final resting place of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah – Mazar-e-Quaid – one of the most famous places in Karachi. The tomb was built in memory of the nation’s founder and his diligent contributions.

Mazar-e Quaid is one of Pakistan’s most revered monuments, serving not only as Quaid’s final resting place, but also as a symbol of the resilience and self-sacrifice of the people that led to the formation of this country. The tomb is one of Karachi’s most iconic sites and a defining feature of downtown Karachi’s skyline. Given the fame of this place, it will certainly retain its significance for millennia to come.

Masjid-e Tuba – the main mosque of Karachi, one of the largest domed mosques in the world – was built in 1969 from white marble. The diameter of the dome is 72 meters, the height of the minaret reaches 70 meters.

We all know that the oceans of the world are considered an inexhaustible source of food, minerals and energy. They are a vital source of transport and trade. Even in our age of technological progress, only a small part of its wealth has touched a person, the rest still offers to be explored. His generosity indicates that the future of mankind is inextricably linked with the further development of the seas. Pakistanis are proud to belong to a region that has a 4,000-year history of seafaring dating back to the rise of the Indus Valley Civilization. Thus, in terms of maritime activities, there have been many attributes in this region for centuries. Every nation is proud of preserving its cultural heritage. The Pakistan Maritime Museum is the only museum of its kind in Pakistan that has taken on the responsibility of preserving and displaying artefacts of maritime significance. The Pakistan Maritime Museum demonstrates the Pakistan Navy’s commitment to nation building by documenting and preserving the rich maritime history and cultural heritage for knowledge and a lasting legacy for future generations. The maritime zone is considered the backbone of coastal states and about 95% of world trade passes through the seas. The navy of Pakistan not only protects and guards the coastline and territorial boundaries of the sea, but also educates the people of Pakistan about the importance of maritime affairs and its role in the economic growth of the country.
The aim of the Pakistan Maritime Museum is to preserve the maritime history of the coastal and inland regions of Pakistan in the form of relics, exhibits and heritage artifacts of a historical nature.

My husband and I really enjoyed the Safari Park – one of the best family parks in Karachi, where there is a lake, animals, entertainment area. An ideal picnic spot, the Safari Park offers many fun recreational activities that can make your family trip unforgettable. Be prepared for some physical activity as you will have to walk a long distance through the park, but it is well worth a visit. An extensive green lawn with beautiful and colorful flowers completes the serene setting. This theme park, which attracts hundreds of people every day of the week, welcomes guests from all over the world, both local and international. The Safari Park was created with the aim of providing an amazing experience for its visitors. Safari, a theme park with a huge variety of animals, allows you to spend time with your loved ones while getting the most out of your trip to Karachi.

We often go to museums, visit galleries, historical sites, sometimes my husband organizes dinner at a restaurant. Well, during our visit to Karachi, we visited the excellent Kolachi Restaurant, which serves Pakistani and Asian cuisine. Kolachi Restaurant is a must-see place in Karachi that offers a unique blend of Pakistani and Mediterranean cuisine. Quite a large restaurant, occupying a huge area in the open air. The food is just great, no words.

The next restaurant that I fell in love with is Cocochan in the Dolmen shopping center. Cocochan Restaurant creates exciting new flavors. Here you can taste Japanese, Chinese and Thai cuisine. Hot, sour and clear soups were very tasty. We also tried chaumein, sushi and rolls. Excellent restaurant with delicious food and impeccable service.

The Cosmopolitan bar has a great selection of ice cream and desserts. I tried the mango ice cream, the ice cream was amazing. Husband tried the vanilla ice cream. There are a lot of branded restaurants and cafes in the Dolmen shopping center: Baskin Robbins, Belco Chocholates, Broadway Pizza, Butlers Chocholate Cafe, Bar B.Q. Tonight, Burger O’Clock, Chachajee, China Grill, Cinnabon, Del Frio, Delizia, Dunkin, Espresso, Esquires Coffee, Fibbi, Ginsoy Live, Gloriya Jean’s Coffees, Greeno Juice Bar, Hardee’s, Hey Day, Hobnob, Islamic Honey Center, Established in the 1990s, the Islamic Honey Center is a pioneer in the extraction and distribution of natural honey in Pakistan, KFC, McDonald’s, Nando’s, OPTP, Pappa Roti, Taksim Square, Subway.
Vannellis is an Italian restaurant serving fresh pizza, pasta, salads.

My general impression of Karachi is a raging stream that strives and runs forward. Karachi is the place where I personally would like to stay longer, since the city is very big, I haven’t seen a lot of things yet, and I would like to see a lot of interesting things. In short, definitely it is worth visiting Karachi. By the way, we traveled by car from Islamabad to Karachi twice. I think this is the best way to discover Pakistan.

The Bhanbhor archaeological site is located 60 km southeast of Karachi on the banks of the Garo stream in the Thatta district of Sindh province, Pakistan.
Thatta in the XVI-XVII centuries was the capital of Sindh, one of the four provinces of Pakistan. After the emirs and their predecessors, the rulers of the Great Moghuls, architectural monuments, mosques and mausoleums remained here – the pearls of the cultural heritage of Pakistan.

The Shah Jahan Mosque was built in 1647. The mosque is known for its beautiful red brick architecture and blue glazed tiles, probably brought from another Sindh city, Hala. The mosque has 100 domes in total and is the largest mosque in the world with so many domes. It was built with acoustics in mind.

SHAH JAHAN MOSQUE

Gorakh Hill is located in Sindh. IF Murri is the Queen of the Hills, then Gorakh Hill, Sindh’s highest point, often compared to this green hill station in northern Pakistan, is a lone majestic king.
In the dusty plains of present-day Sindh in southern Pakistan lie the ruins of one of the world’s most impressive ancient cities that most people have never heard of: Mohenjo Daro. From Karachi to Mohenjo Daro 6 hours 30 minutes, and in kilometers there will be approximately 432 km. During the visit of the museum and the ancient city of Mohenjo Daro, we were accompanied by a museum guide. Our guide was a very knowledgeable, highly educated tour operator and guide. He told us about the ancient city.

It turns out that the ancient city had running water, sewerage, and even public toilets (perhaps the oldest in the world). Almost every house had a room for ablution, and ditches branched off from the buildings to drain rainwater. Traces of fire and severe destruction were found here, but not a single grave was found, so the settlement was called Mohenjo Daro – (“Hill of the Dead”).

Mohenjo Daro – the ideal ancient city. The largest ancient city of the Indus Valley, which arose in 2600 BC, for 9 centuries of existence became famous as the center of the agricultural district, the concentration of crafts and trade. In a word, mohenjo daro still amazes scientists and travelers. it’s just an archaeological wonder.

We found the origin of Mohenjo Daro image on banknote of 20 Pakistani rupees.
